Nicole Lopez Verano

Nicole Lopez is a Colombian-American vocalist, songwriter, arranger, and producer with a deep passion for using the voice as both an expressive and healing instrument. Her mission is to empower students to build a sustainable, fulfilling, and healthy relationship with their voice—and, by extension, with themselves—through a teaching practice that integrates both technical and holistic approaches.

As an artist, she weaves the stories of her ancestors through a timeless sound that evokes listeners to remember their universal nature. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, she emigrated to Miami, Florida at a young age, an experience that awakened a lifelong journey of self-exploration and a search for the meaning of “home.” Her musical path began with songs of her Colombian heritage and quickly expanded to embody the multicultural influences of Miami. This evolution inspired her to travel throughout Latin America in search of ancestral stories.

In 2017, she was accepted to Berklee College of Music, where she was awarded a scholarship as a voice principal after auditioning with a native song from the Inga Tribe. There, she refined her skills as a vocalist, arranger, and composer while also supporting the college as a cultural ambassador. An activist first and musician second, her work aims to bring consciousness to listeners through clear, thought-provoking lyrics while uplifting the spirit to rejoice in the beauty and mystery of life. Her teaching method is grounded in a strong academic foundation in voice pedagogy, holding both a B.A. and an M.A. from Berklee College of Music.

This formal education is complemented by experiential training in performance and artistic development through transformative programs such as Effortless Mastery and the Victor Wooten Center for Music and Nature. These diverse experiences allow her to meet students where they are and have a profound knowledge in many genres from Latin, pop, jazz, R&B, Brazilian and more while nurturing not only vocal growth but also artistic confidence and personal discovery. Nicole works with students across a wide range of goals—from mastering vocal technique and expanding creative expression to audition preparation and performance readiness. Whether supporting aspiring professionals or passionate beginners, she brings care, clarity, and intention to every lesson.

In addition to her teaching and artistic work, she has a strong background in music production, audio engineering, video editing, and arts administration. This interdisciplinary expertise enables her to contribute meaningfully to a variety of creative and educational projects, always with the aim of elevating the work and empowering those involved.
