Jason Faust is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Florida, now based in Madrid, Spain. He blends funk, soul, R&B, and disco into a vibrant and modern sound shaped by his American roots and global influences. A versatile pianist, trumpeter, and frontman, Jason brings a deep understanding of performance, creativity, and musical storytelling to both the stage and the classroom.
He is the founder and creative director of Astral Voyage: The Big Electric Orchestra, an international space-funk electric big band known for its adventurous fusion of jazz, funk, and electronic soundscapes. Through this project, Jason leads a diverse ensemble of musicians from around the world, showcasing his strengths not only as a performer but also as a visionary composer and arranger. Jason is also a proud member of the Recording Academy, with his debut single 'Make a Choice' earning a place on the official Grammy ballot. His professional credits include serving as music director for the opening act of The Temptations’ 2023 performance in Beverly Hills, opening as a trumpet player for John Legend back in 2015, as well as extensive touring throughout Spain and across international stages, further solidifying his reputation as a dynamic and forward-thinking artist.
Jason combines his real-world industry experience with a supportive, student-centered philosophy. Whether coaching instrumentalists, mentoring young writers, or helping arrangers bring their ideas to life, he is committed to creating an engaging learning environment where students feel inspired to grow, experiment, and discover who they are as musicians. He strives to empower every student to develop the skills they need to thrive both creatively and professionally.
Alongside his performance career, Jason is a dedicated educator with a deep passion for helping students unlock their creative potential. He specializes in trumpet, songwriting, and composition/arranging, guiding learners in developing both technical mastery and artistic confidence. Jason believes that music is a transformative tool for self-expression, reflection, and personal growth. His teaching approach emphasizes curiosity, exploration, and authenticity, encouraging students to find their own voice while building a strong musical foundation.
