Ellie Schubert
Ellie is a vocalist, audio engineer and producer whose love for music started at age in five in her local church. She sang in the kids choir, eventually moving on to participating in All-County, All-State, and All-Regional choirs and performing musical theatre at the state and national level in middle and high school. During this time, she would continuously write and record accompaniment for her friends' audition cuts, along with her personal pop, rock and R&B compositions. Over time her love for voice and production melded, leading her to Berklee College of Music.
At Berklee, Ellie majored in Music Production and Audio Engineering whilst performing in small jazz ensembles, traditional choirs, and original musical theatre works by both Berklee staff and students. She has engineered, produced and mixed multiple musical and post production projects, and has travelled back to her hometown for four summers to participate in a theatre camp of over 300 students from K-10th grade as a vocal director. It is here that she found her love for teaching, to help the next generation be inspired by song, audio, and story.
Ellie’s teaching philosophy is rooted in just that—stories. She is a firm believer that authentic stories are at the core of humanity. Both telling and listening to each others’ stories and experiences are what connect us all as humans, because they allow us to practice empathy, gain perspective, and realize we share more similarities than we previously believed. Many people tell stories with words on a page, or paint on a canvas, but Ellie has found that her favorite medium to tell stories through is music and audio. She wants to help the younger generation find their voice and tell their stories, because they do matter.
